Attorneys

Nora Rousso is a native Nora RoussoSanFranciscan.
She graduated from U.C. Berkeley with a degree in Political Science and received her law degree from Golden Gate University in San Francisco.

Nora showed early talent as a legal advocate when she won the American Jurisprudence Award for Legal Writing in her first year of law school and good writing is still her passion. She also was selected as “best trial lawyer” in her Trial Advocacy class. She graduated from law school in 1990 and promptly passed the bar.

Victorian WomanNora is proud to be called a trial lawyer and was trained as such at one of San Jose’s most prestigious law firms, McManis, Faulkner & Morgan, where she worked for nearly a decade. She was so eager to get into court that with the help of her law firm, she obtained special permission from the trial court to help try a large civil trial before she was formally sworn in as an attorney. After the unexpected departure of a senior attorney, Nora found herself responsible for a number of complicated personal injury cases, attending depositions and preparing for trial at a time when most new lawyers were still doing filing and figuring out where the courthouse was.

Nora particularly enjoys jury trials.  She loves the challenge of thinking on her feet and relishes the opportunity to convince a jury that her client should win.

Despite a busy schedule, Nora finds time to devote to a number of philanthropic ventures. She chaired the Board of the Jewish Community Relations Council and also has served on the Board of Trustees at Temple Emanu-El, the Bay Area’s first Jewish congregation. She is a member of the Civil Practice Committee Section of the Santa Clara County Bar Association and works as a Judge Pro Tem for the Santa Clara County Superior Court, where she helps parties to settle cases on the eve of trial. She is on the board of the Yavneh Parent Association at Yavneh Day School in Los Gatos, where she also serves as a room parent. She is devoted to her family and they are also avid supporters of local community theatre, including the Tabard Theatre and Children’s Musical Theater of San Jose.
